Summary: The article points out why we will see ChatGPT appears more in our apps. ChatGPT has stunned many users with its tool in generating data impressively and OpenAI (ChatGPT producer) is opening up the way for the viral AI chatbot to be integrated into a number of apps and services. Instacart, Snap and tutor app Quizlet are applying ChatGPT’s application programming interface, or API, a tool’s chat functionality and answers into their platforms. such as generating recommendations, and helping users make plans on Snapchat. For Quizlet, they are introducing a chatbot that can ask questions based on study materials for students to prepare for their exams. Shopping apps are launching chatbots that could help inform customers’ shopping decisions such as how can I make healthy food, etc. An analyst from ABI Research says: "If users engage more with a service that means more data for advertising, marketing of goods and services, and potentially stronger customer relationships."
However, the article mentions that there are some concerns regarding ChatGPT and its potential to extend biases and spread misinformation. Some schools in the USA have banned ChatGPT over concerns about students cheating.
Reaction: I find the ChatGPT quite interesting. How these days IA technology has become so convenient and easier to access. Making huge impact in many areas. However, I also agree on the point that it can be used in inappropriate situations. The article makes me wanted to use ChatGPT for once.
Questions: The article mentions that ChatGPT can cause potential bases, I wonder how dose it do, what are those bases? Are they harmful? Are there anymore areas that ChatGPT is used in inappropriate besides learning area?
I also agree that ChatGPT is interesting one in study, if users are use in the way of learning and asking it would help a lot, but I knew that some of the users are use this inappropriate way for cheating to find out a hint easily. It might be harmful if we are using for wrong purpose.
ReplyDeleteInteresting ! I haven't heard about the ChatGPT before. Thank you for sharing Max !
ReplyDeleteHi Max,
ReplyDeleteI am wondering about the convenience of searching for information nowadays such as Google. Nevertheless, in the era of globalization, AI has revolutionized searching material into chatbots. Throughout your question, I think the biases on chatbots are the majority responses that will be answered automatically because the AI already set it up. Also, the school made a right decision on banning the ChatGPT (i guess), if study is too easy, too convenient [sure things] students will be lazier.
